Newton's Third Law of Action is False

Remember Isaac Newton? You know, that brainy guy who liked to hang out under apple trees until one day a bulky piece of fruit decided to hurl itself at his head. Well, he taught the apple a lesson and came up with a bunch of smarty-pants laws of nature, such as this one: "To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

Hmmm. Sure, it sounds perfectly reasonable in theory. But nope, in fact, it's completely false, and I have proof.

Yesterday, I made up my mind to start spending 20 minutes a day exercising. So, I lunged, squatted and crunched myself silly for a third of an hour. Now, according to Newton's Law, I should be feeling really relaxed (opposite of the feeling while working out) for about 20 minutes today (equal amount of time). However, that is not the case.

Instead, I am dealing with the Great Hamstring Revolt of 2009. Every muscle in my body has joined a union which is currently on strike.

Maybe the Third Law should really be interpreted like this: "If you fail to do any serious exercise for a really long time, you will be sore for an amount of time equal to the number of days you were lazy."
