Milestones

This weekend marks a milestone for me as a mom. It will be my first time to leave Colton overnight. Casey and I are making a trip down to Austin to celebrate my 30th birthday. We hope to see the millions of winged vampires flying out at us at the bat bridge, eat some tasty food at non-kid-friendly restaurants, sleep in, and have fun staying out during naptime!

Tonight we're driving up to Ardmore to meet Casey's parents who will keep Colton over the weekend. I'm sure he'll have a great time. He loves going to Gram and Granddad's. I just hope I don't miss him too much.

Colton has he own little language for things. If he doesn't like something he says "ike it!" If he comes into a room and wonders what I'm up to he says "Doing Mommy?" If he wants to know where someone is it's "Daddy is?" "Grandma is?"

The other day he was playing and fell on his little toy bottle of ketchup that goes with his play kitchen. He cried and said "Bad Ketchup, bad ketchup!"

Earlier this week. He tried to tell a story. It didn't make a lot of sense to me but he said it all together and seemed to know what he meant. "Grandma Pratt House. Shovel. Daddy's truck. Hold you."

Sometimes when he wakes up from his afternoon nap, he'll be saying new words all of sudden and I think, "He's learning new things even when he sleeps."
