I'm currently enjoying reading a series by Beverly Lewis about Amish Life. The books are set in the 1940-50's and follow the lives of several "courting age" Amish sisters.
Lewis has studied Amish culture extensively, so the books give you an insider's look into the beliefs, customs and lingo of the "People" (as they call themselves.)
The books are a blend of historical romance and soft mystery. I just can't wait to find out what'll happen with Sadie and Jonas or Smitty Gid and Leah! Don't those names just shout mystery, danger and adventure?

I have read some of her books in the past and have also really enjoyed them.
Beverly does have a fairly good grasp of the Amish in PA and other eastern states.
I grew up Amish in the midwest so my life was slightly different but mystery was also a part of my life.
I am glad you enjoyed her books.
