Actually, while Belize was quite warm, I’m pretty sure Oklahoma, when summer is in full force (not these wimpy rainy days we’ve been having) causes the mercury to jump higher. Since we spent the week on an island, we benefited from the cooling trade winds. Although, there were times I felt like I was an egg frying on a hot skillet. Like when Casey and I fished for eight hours in a panga (i.e. a small boat with no shade) on the open sea. I had to wrap myself from head to toe in a beach towel to keep the sun from turning me into a lobster. It mostly worked – I only gotten a little sunburned and am just peeling on my shoulders.
During the week, Casey and I snorkeled twice, fished two days, went to town three times, hung out in the hammock and pool (the pool was just me) and read a couple books.
The snorkeling was probably one of my favorite excursions. We swam in the coral reef next to stingrays, nurse sharks, a moray eel, a large turtle, grouper, clown fish, barracuda and a whole bunch more fish I don’t know the names of. I'm going to post another one about the people of Belize here in a sec . . .

p.s. did you mean lunch pal or lunch pail?
Wow! It looks like you had a great place to relax! I can't believe how well you got to know so many people in such a short time... and you say Casey's the people person. :) I'm glad you had a good vacation! The snorkeling sounds amazing! I haven't had a snorkel trip with that much diversity of animals (in my two whole snorkel trips!). Thanks so much for sharing with us!
