Bright-eyed and diaper-bottomed

Elise was ready to pose for some photos today, even if her brother wasn't. We've been enjoying the cooler weather with frequent visits to local parks. I'm looking forward to visiting pumpkin patches soon and getting some cute pictures of the kids.

Elise is getting more active. As soon as she's put on the floor she starts rolling all around to get where she wants. She's been rolling for quite awhile, but now she seems more purposeful about wanting to get somewhere.

Colton keeps us on our toes. Like most three year olds, he is very curious. The other day he asked why God lived in the sky. I tried to explain that God was all around us and can hear us and listens when we pray.

In response, Colton got on top of his train table and started shouting in a deep, goofy sounding voice, "He can hear us! He can hear us!" Then he proceeded to smash toys loudly together and grunt and squeal with gusto.

I then told him God could see him too, thinking maybe he wouldn't feel the need to shout so loudly. He then responded, "No, he can't see us!" He sounded dumbfounded that I could be so ignorant. That's a three year old for ya!

This last photo is from a few weeks ago, but I thought I'd include it since it shows him sitting on his train table like in the story above.
