Well, that subject line is a bit of an overstatement, but if you've been reading this blog for a while, you might remember the post about me getting glasses (as pictured here). While I was pregnant, my eyes got all weird. Since I had vision insurance at the time, I went to see an optometrist. They eye test showed I was a bit near-sighted. More significantly, it also revealed I had an astigmatism in both eyes. So, I got some glasses (which I must confess I wore only on occasions when clear vision was a dire necessity).
Fast forward a year. I'm struggling to see the time on the kitchen clock this morning, and remember my ever-faithful glasses patiently sitting in a drawer just waiting for me to call them in to action. I rescue them from their slumber put them on and prepare to have my world transform into high-def.
Nope. More like tunnel-vision. I could feel my eyes straining not to cross. When I originally saw the eye doctor she said my vision changes could be due to pregnancy hormones. But, she also added that even after giving birth my eyes might remain wonky because of nursing hormones.
Sounds about right.
Since my formerly-helpful glasses are now completely ineffective, my uber-professional diagnosis is that my astigmatisms are gone. Woo Hoo! The near-sighted thing (which made the clock blurry) is probably not going to go away though. Boo Hoo! (I made a bit of a ryhme, didn't I?)
Oh well, at least I still have my X-ray vision to console me.
