It's Almost My Favorite Time of Year

I love fall. It always makes me feel nostalgic. Maybe because it's brings back memories of the first week of school, county fairs, pumpkin carving and the beginning of baking season.

I love the colors of fall, the coziness of fall and the general reflective feelings of fall.

I know it's still summer and that particularly here in the Dallas area we still have many warm days ahead. But the coming of fall is in the air. This last week I took several walks with Colton, and I could feel the change. Blazing heat had given way (even if only temporarily) to cooler breezes and a dash of crispness in the air.

My mother in law and I say the cooler months are "time for hearty stew." I love crock pot cooking, and as the weather cools down I know I'll be able to start making chilis, soups and stews again. Mmmm. Oh and baking, fall also ushers in the first pumpkin muffins, banana breads and gingersnaps of the season.

Yep, I'm excited for fall. I think this year I may even put out some fall decorations. Even though the leaves here may not change colors until December, come September 22, I'm busting out a few pumpkins, a bag of fake leaves and maybe even a scarecrow. Oooh, that just makes me wanna turn down the A/C, grab a scarf and drink a cup of cider.

What's your favorite season?

Sounds so cozy!
You are right on the crock pot. It is a great kitchen tool which I love. We have to swap recipes:)

Fall is by far my favorite season. Some of the early turning trees are starting to change colors a bit and it makes me want to go outside all the time to enjoy the nice cooler weather! Do you have a good pumpkin muffin recipe?? I have been looking for one, but haven't found anything I am crazy about! Let me know!

Definitely fall! However, that cool, crisp air still makes me reminiscent of the fall when I was prego and sicko, and that was nearly two years ago! Time does fly!
