What We've Been Up To...

Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years . . . gone, gone and gone. I didn't chronicle much this holiday season or get many photos, but here's a couple my dad took the night my side of the family celebrated Christmas.

This photo was taken in my mom's backyard while Casey and his assistant attempted to photograph the December alien landing (they are of peace, always) . . . I mean of the lunar eclipse.
Colton, like all toddlers, loved getting presents. He's still enjoying playing with his gifts. Some of his favorites being several magnetic trains from the show Thomas the Tank Engine and his "Christmas monkey" a stuffed animal from my mom.

In pregnancy news, I'm now in my 3rd trimester! Woo Hoo for the home stretch! I'm still hoping to avoid having a c-section again this time around, and my doctor is willing to let try as long as I go into labor on my own. So pray that this little girl will be head down and ready to go before 41 weeks.

Here's a shot of me at 28 weeks.
And here's one of me looking somewhat smaller as I hide my big belly in black.
And one of the little guy with a fat lip from falling on one of his trucks today. Poor guy.
Speaking of the little fella . . . we just tucked him into bed, and every night he does the same thing after we leave his room. He yells, "Hey mom, hey mom!" And when I say, "Yes, Colton?" He says, "I need to go home."

Each time I respond by telling him that he is at home, but for some reason he keeps saying it. I think now he just says it to be funny because he laughed the last couple nights after he said it.

He's been in his "big boy" toddler bed for a few months now and has done a pretty good job adjusting. He does have a tendency to get out of bed several times after he's been put to bed though. He never actually leaves his room, but we can hear him in there playing with toys, so we go back in and lay him down again.

So far, he's had his nightlight, table lamp and monitor taken out of his room - all sources of light that he was using to see his toys and keep playing after bedtime. Sometimes now he'll just hunker down in front of his bedroom door to see the crack of light coming from down the hall. It's pretty funny what kids come up with to try and stay up late.

Other exciting news is that my BFF Erin is getting married in May, and I'm her matron of honor! Yay! Another good reason I'm hoping to avoid a repeat c-section.

You are still like the cutest pregnant girl ever. And I really don't say that to everyone who's pregnant : )
Good to hear things are going well for you guys. Colton looks so much like Casey, it's crazy! Can't wait to see pictures of your new little girl! How fun!
