Our "Babymoon" Down South

Since we're going to be adding to our family in a couple of months and likely won't have an opportunity for a couples getaway for quite sometime, Casey and I decided to take a babymoon.

At the beginning of this month (right when the ice blizzard hit our area) we were scheduled to fly out of Dallas. Unfortunately, the bad weather canceled our flights that day and delayed them the next day.

But, we persevered and arrived in South Carolina in one piece. We spent the next few days relaxing, eating seafood, and enjoying the sites around coastal Beaufort, SC and Savannah, GA.

Casey posing in front of a cannon at Old Fort Jackson, an important battle post in the Civil War.

These next few shots are at the ruins of a church outside of Beaufort. It was built in the 1700s and was burned once during the Revolutionary War and then again during the Civil War.

While we were in Savannah, we visited Wormsloe Plantation. This was one of the out buildings on the property.

A fire is going inside the out building because it was a historical reenactment day at the plantation. History buffs were out in colonial costumes, and we even got to see some old cannons fired.
