And in this corner, weighing in at 12.5 pounds . . .

. . . the mighty Lil' Blue Eyes Short! (Make sure you say all of that in the voice of a boxing ring announcer. )

Colton had his four month doctor's visit yesterday. His new pediatrician is really nice and paid Colton all the proper compliments that are due him. :)

The fellow is still in about the 7th percantile for height and weight. Which means about 93% of other babies are just plain too big because Colton is the perfect size! I'm kidding of course. Chubby, skinny, short or long - I think moms are just crazy about their babies whatever their size.

The doctor said I can start Colton on rice cereal anytime between now and six months. I bought some but haven't started it yet. Maybe when I offer it to him the first time I can get some pictures of his reaction. I'm curious to see how quickly/slowly he'll take to solids.

Does anyone have advice on starting solids? Anything to avoid? Make sure I do?

Just know it doesn't happen magically when you first start...they don't know what to do with it in their mouth and it generally takes a few "offerings" before they trick their tongue into working.

and make it thin.

how fun!

Aw, Jonah was a little guy too. He stayed in the 5th percentile his entire first year. In fact, he's 4 now and only weighs 33 lbs! I love my skinny boy.

I loved starting solids, especially when you get to fruits and veggies. The facial expressions are priceless :)
