Sometimes I wish Oklahoma City was more of a walking community. You know, with outdoor markets and shops that you could easily walk or ride your bike to. Not only would it be good exercise, but it's just fun to get out in the fresh air and sun. Well, on Friday I kind of had this type of outdoor shopping experience. It wasn't in a quaint little market but in the busy shopping center on Penn and Memorial.I parked my car in the middle of the shopping center and walked to Ulta, then Akins, then back down to Old Navy and Petsmart. Then, I headed down to Maggie Moo's. As I was walking, the sun was shining brightly, and there was music coming from one of the stores. It was very cheerful and just fun to be walking around on a Friday afternoon. After getting an oreo shake at Maggie Moo's, I headed to Books A Million. I perused the fiction and young adult sections, and got ideas for things I might like to write. Then back to the sunshiney day and to my car.
We may not have a town square or sidewalks on every street, but if you try, you can still enjoy a sunny afternoon stroll through the marketplace.
