Isn't it funny that there are people in nursing homes or just hanging out that are older than our state? We're really a baby when it comes to statehood. But, then again our country isn't all that old either.Since I didn't go to elementary school in Oklahoma, I didn't get to participate in any land run days or learn the words to Oklahoma! But despite those handicaps, I've since become a proud Okie (even though I am moving to Texas in a short while.) I even know most of the words to Oklahoma! now thanks to my favorite radio station, KOMA.
I probably won't make it downtown for any of the festivities since I hear most of them cost a lot of dinero, but I will think happy thoughts about our state as I go about my business this weekend.
