These pictures (which feature my spectacles) are from my boss’s 40th birthday on Friday. I made a tasty (if I do say so myself) chocolate cake for it. Everyone told me it was really good, and some even said it was the best cake they’d had. So, I’m going to pass on what I put in it (I blended a couple of different recipes to make it).
Cake
2 cups white sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
1 5 oz. can evaporated milk
1 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 package instant chocolate pudding
1/2 cup sour cream
2/3 cup Kahlua
1 cup boiling water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, stir together the dry ingredients. Add the eggs, milk, Kahlua, sour cream oil and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer. Stir in the boiling water last. Batter will be thin. Pour evenly into greased pan. I baked in a 9x13 pan for about 50 mins.
Frosting (pretty basic)
6 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup cocoa
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups powdered' sugar
Melt butter. Add cocoa and sugar alternately with milk. Beat to spreading consistency. Stir in vanilla extract.
If you make some, you can bring me a piece! Yum Yum.

Summer...this sounds really good. I haven't had any good cake in Israel. Why? I don't really know. Not a lot of cake like we have in the US. Maybe I'll make one! Ooooh, I'm gonna make a cake. Thanks!
