Recommendations Please . . .

This weekend, Casey and I made our first attempt at registering for baby gear. The amount of items and selection is somewhat overwhelming to the novice parent. There are like 500 different brands of strollers, cribs and car seats to choose from!

We selected some basic items, but held off on registering for any of the big stuff since I wanted to do more research.

So, I'm looking for a little advice about what baby paraphernalia is a good buy, what I should skip on, what's a time saver, what's a pain in the rump, etc.

Please share your wisdom in the comments section!

Wipe warmer-good
Huggies diapers-best ones out there
Breast pump-your decision
Small diaper bag-you don't need an entire luggage set
Don't worry about registering blankets. Trust me, you'll get blankets!
Car seat/stroller combo is good if it's not too big and bulky. If you can, get an extra base or another car seat for the other car. That way you don' have to strap down that darn base every time you move it.
A swing is like magic for a little one to be lulled to sleep.
This time we got the smaller versin of the play pen. I think I like it.
Ok, that should do for now!

Scott Williams likes those baby leashes.(grin) Seriously, I recommend getting the best grandparent you can afford. (grin) Dang, I was trying to be serious...

He's got a point on the grandparent thing...

Little floor gym they lay on and look up at dangling "stuff" -- Jack LOVES it.
Nat's right - wipe warmer is the gospel.

Bottle warmer is also good. You may need it at some point.

good night light for baby's room.

cheap clothes. they grow SOOOOO fast. Don't invest in expensive ones they will only wear for 2 weeks.

Plenty of burp cloths for spittin' up -- I use cloth diapers because they're big enough to catch a lot of spit.

Thanks for the tips homies!

About baby leashes, I just might need one. My mom was telling me the other day that she used one of those on my brother to keep him from escaping in public places.
Although, I guess I can probably wait for the little guy to start walking before I tie him to a leash. :)
