Good Medicine: Riboflavin, Blue's Clues and Excedrin

Last night, I went to bed with a migraine just itching to explode. This morning I woke up with a full-blown nausea-inducing, light-fearing, head-pounding migraine.

I used to get migraines about once a week but since I started talking riboflavin (about 200 mg a day) I rarely get them. However, when I go out of town I often slack greatly on taking my vitamins and then, next thing you know, my migraines are back and ready to make up for all the 'quality time' we've missed.

I think the worst thing about migraines is the nausea. I can't hardly move without feeling like I'm going to puke. I need quiet, darkness, and total stillness to feel better. Having a active 18 month old makes creating these conditions elusive.

These are the times I'm thankful for streaming Netflix. At the touch of a button I have instant access to dozens of toddler-mesmerizing cartoons, like Blues Clues.

While I was waiting for the Excedrin Migraine to kick in, Colton was entertained by Steve, Blue and whatever other characters are on Season 1 of Blues Clues.

Not long after taking those magical little capsules, I started to feel my nausea lifting and my headache slipping away.

I'm back to my old self, Blues Clues is off and Colton is napping. All is right in the world once more. Or at least in the Short household ... as long as I can remember to take my Riboflavin that is.

Next time, call me. You know I'll take that little guy off your hands and entertain him for a while. Can't promise I'm better than Steve, and can't promise I'll give him back, tho!

haha. As you can imagine, the streaming of Blues Clues is much loved by all at our house right now. . .
