Attention fellow bloggers: If you want to find out who's looking at your blog, install Google Analytics. For my Blogger account, all I had to do was register my URL with Google Analytics, and then it gave me some HTML to copy and paste onto my page. I put it in by going to Template, then selecting Add a Page Element and choosing HTML/Javascript. Then, I just copied in the HTML into the content section.I selected the Add Page Element at the bottom of the template, but I think it would work just as well with the sidebar option. Either way, it shouldn't be visible to anyone, it just goes into the code.
Google Analytics is really cool because it gives you all sorts of information like how people got to your blog, where the people who visit your blog live, how long they stayed on your site and how many pages they viewed.
Since I've installed it on my blog, I've even had international traffic! Two people from the UK and someone from Austria. I've also received 8 visits from someone (or multiple someones) Googling "Belizean Wedding Rings."
I can also see which of my friends' blogs are bringing visits my way. Drawing on the Ceiling has brought 8 visits, The Great I Am Not, 6, and The Heineckes, 3.
It also tells you how many unique visitors you've had to your site. That way you can tell if you just have two friends clicking on your blog a ten times a day or if you have 30 friends visiting once a week.
