Colton Needs to Do a Somersault

I had a couple of doctors' appointments today. One was for an ultrasound and the other was with my regular doctor. At the ultrasound, they confirmed what I'd been suspecting - that Colton is butt down (breech).

He still has several more weeks before he'll get too big to switch position. The doctor said she hopes that he will be in position by my next appointment in 2 weeks.

The ultrasound also showed that my amniotic fluid was normal but a little on the low side. She said that drinking more water could increase the fluid around him and make it easier for him to turn. So I've been chugging down water this afternoon. I'm also going to do some exercises I learned in birthing class to try and encourage him to turn.

It's kind of funny - we've spent about 20 hours going to natural childbirth classes in addition to reading books and other literature on natural childbirth. The whole point being to try and avoid interventions like a c-section. And then the little one is breech! Well, like I said he still has plenty of time to get in the right position, so, please pray that he'll get there quick!

Move, baby, move! I'll be praying for you!! AND... if you DO have to have a c-section, lil Colton will have a beautiful head when he's born. :)

How in the world are they supposed to know which direction they should face? Sounds like a stressful life for a baby!!! Although I have heard that he will have a beautiful head if you have a c-section!!
