As most of you know, Casey and I are preparing to move to Texas so that we can work for Gospel for Asia. Since August, we've been working on support raising and now we're pretty much at the 65% mark which means we're able to put our house up for sale.
So over the last couple of weeks, we've been spending a lot of time trying to get our house ready to put on the market. We've taken boxes to storage to "de-clutter" and made the Lowe's runs to get what we need for minor repairs.
This weekend was Painting Extravaganza 2008! Our sweet GFA mentor, Kevin Powell, came up this weekend for Carrollton to help Casey paint the house. A couple of our other friends also joined in on the work party. It was a great help to have them around. Most of the house is now painted. (I believe only the bathrooms remain.)
Since breathing in paint fumes isn't exactly healthy, we've spent the last couple of nights over at Casey's parents' house. Casey was painting the bedroom today, so we're staying there again tonight. They have a king size bed in a guest room and their place is even a little closer to my work, so it's really great to be able to stay with them.
Once we finish with painting and get the rooms put back together, we're going to do a couple more things like get the carpets cleaned and do a little landscaping. We should have the house on the market in the next week or so. We're doing FSBO, so if you know of anyone who is looking for a super cool house in the Edmond area . . . I'm planning on posting some pictures of our house with a few more details about it once we get everything together.
Once our house is on the market, we'll concentrate on raising the last of our support. Then once we have a contract on the house, we'll probably take a few days to go down to Carrollton and look at rent houses, make another visit to the birthing center and tackle other pre-moving odds and ends. Our plan is to be down in Texas BEFORE Colton comes. It would also be very nice if we were able to get down there in time to have a few extra weeks to get settled in before his arrival.
Sometimes it's a challenge to trust the Lord that everything is going to come together in time. Usually though I feel confident that it will. He's done so much for us already. Our support has been coming in, the house is almost ready to sell and I've had a really smooth pregnancy so far. Please pray that everything will come together in the Lord's perfect timing and that both Casey and I will continue to have faith that the One who called is faithful to provide.
When I remember that half the world has yet to hear the name of Jesus and that everyday Gospel for Asia plants ten churches in those once dark places, I know that the Lord is moving powerfully in the ministry and that he able to provide everything Casey and I need to be able to serve him there. He really is an amazing God.

A phone conversation I had today:
My phone rings. It is a 972 number that I do not know, the conversation goes something like this:
Me: hello
caller: Hey!
Me:....hi?
caller: how are you doing? how is everything going?
Me: (still really confused) um.. good.
caller: (pause) who is this?
Me: this is Megan who is this?
caller: Luke's Megan?
Me: yes...who is this
caller: this is Casey I thought you were my mom!
Haha it made me laugh a lot.
I am so excited for you guys and all of the exciting things in your future (the move, Gospel for Asia, Colton) but I will miss you oh so much!!!
