Oklahoma ‘Naders are No Match for the Storm Stopper!

The Hail Hero, the Funnel Cloud Falcon, the Avenger of the Windblown. Call him what you will, Oklahoma tornados are no match for the Storm Stopper.

Last night as I lay bundled in my bed, I, like many Oklahomans, was awoken by the powerful sound of hail pelting against my window. I sat up and looked around for Casey, but he was gone. I called out for him, but there was no response. So, I got up and began looking through the house. As I walked down the hallway toward the laundry room, the sound of the storm became much louder.

I looked out past our laundry room through the open garage and saw a shadowy figure throwing blankets and towels over our vehicles. It was the Storm Stopper protecting our cars from hail damage! After running and grabbing another ratty blanket for the kind hero in my driveway, I returned to bed.

A couple of hours later, I was once again soundly sleeping when the Storm Stopper made his final appearance of the night. This time he informed me that the tornado sirens were sounding and it was time to take shelter.

At his direction, I slowly waddled to the walk in closet in our bedroom, wrapped myself in a quilt and laid down on the floor. Not satisfied that my meager quilt was enough insulation from the typhoon outside, the Storm Stopper soon appeared carrying cushions from our couch. After burying me in several layers of couch cushions, a blow up mat and moving the quilt over my face, the Storm Stopper was satisfied that I was safe.

Once Gary England announced that the ‘nader had passed our street, the Storm Stopper even put away all the couch cushions and tucked me into bed again.

I hope you were all safe and sound during last night’s storm and that perhaps you even had a visit from your own Storm Stopper.
